Mary Anne McKernie’s painting strengths--color and composition—stem from a career in interior and landscape design, home staging and color consulting on over 100 homes and numerous commercial properties throughout the Bay Area and elsewhere. Her commissions include the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre lobby, the bar of the San Francisco Yacht Club, the Marin Designer Showcase and two boutique hotels and luxury resorts in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Mary Anne’s paintings have been acquired by Netflix and shown at numerous juried exhibitions throughout the U.S. Her art is held in private collections domestically as well as in Mexico and Southeast Asia. Largely self-taught, Mary Anne learned primarily by studying the work and process of accomplished artists. She maintains a studio and gallery in Mill Valley, California.
